(And by proper, I mean the education I gave for myself)
Here's how giving myself a proper sexuality education in my adulthood empowered me into the woman I am today:
I realized that majority of the negative emotions I was holding from day to day were not MINE. I wasn’t jealous, anxious, envious, scared, insecure — I was a product of bad / non-existent sexuality education.
My number one message for women is this: There is absolutely nothing wrong with you for living in a negative loop of disempowering thoughts and emotions. They are not YOURS. Wanna know who planted them in you? The social norms, the way we were brought up, the conditioning we have subconsciously received, the media, the transgenerational baggage, the trauma of living in a patriarchy and the history of the last few thousands of years. Sex education should be the time and place to address these false believes and free you from the disempowering experience of being a woman. And that's exactly what I experienced when I received a proper sex education.
I started loving other women like they were my blood sisters. I started having other women’s backs unconditionally. I started seeing the good, the powerful and the beauty in ALL women — including myself — when I healed my internalized misogyny and sisterhood wound.
Now this is a huge one. A bad sexuality education (a sex ed that does not address the fact that women have been pitted against each other throughout the history) leads us to feel disconnected from other women, encourages competing and comparing and ultimately prevents us from experiencing the most magical thing about womanhood: A connection, trust, support and vulnerability among women. When we heal our relationship with other women and stop the cycle of toxicity among sisters, we come home into our own womanhood in a way we never thought was possible.
It became natural to accept and love myself in what ever shape and size my body currently was, because I realised that beauty standards and body image issues exist to disconnect women from their bodies. They exist so women would be focused on how it LOOKS like to be a woman, not how it FEELS like to be a woman… And the latter is our super power.
How would you feel living your life knowing that your body - exactly as it is today - is powerful, worthy and enough? It is worthy of celebration, worthy of your fearless self-expression and worthy of sexual exploration? And it also is worthy of being admired and drooled over! When we finally unsubscribe from beauty standards and instead shift our focus to our inner experience of being a woman, we begin to tap into our super power that has nothing to do with looks.
I started having the best sex.
I had to include this one. It is just so obvious, that when you free yourself from shame, people-pleasing and low self-esteem, you're able to enjoy sexual encounters on a whole new level. A good sexuality education also educates us on pleasure: how our erogenous zones work, how to get *really* turned on and how wide exactly is the capacity of female pleasure (spoiler alert: it is wide AF).
I became immune to catcalling, rude or sexually suggesting DM’s, other women’s jealousy etc, because I could see the root cause in those projections towards me. (The root cause being: non-existent sexuality education.)
Here's what many women who have completed my sexuality education program, POWERFUL SEXUAL AWARE®, say: "It's like getting a new pair of glasses, through which you i the world now. I've stoped feeling like a victim once I fundamentally understood why the world has formed to be the way it is."
I became a boundary queen once I deeply understood my WORTH and my RIGHT to protect my body and my energy.
Many women struggle with boundaries, because our boundaries have been crossed multiple times throughout our lives. It is one skill to recognise your boundaries, and another skill to communicate them or take action based on them. A proper sexuality education teaches you to do both, so that you can feel secure within yourself where ever you go.
As you've seen, receiving the proper sexuality education can completely transform how you move through the world. Each of these realizations has empowered me, and countless other women, to reclaim our personal power, experience deeper connections, and embrace our full potential.
